My mom out of all people will agree that thousands of dollars have been spent, and many tears have been shed while trying to DO SOMETHING WITH MY HAIR! The first memory I have of my hair giving me trouble was when I would have to sit on the bathroom counter and have my mom yank away at my snarls. (She used to name each snarl-as if I would think “oh they have feelings, so I can’t yell and scream at them"). As I grew older, and my hair continued to get curlier, I came to detest curly hair. I used to get so sick of my family, my friends, and even strangers always telling me “Oh I would kill for your hair”, and “Oh you are so lucky, can I trade you hair”. SURE…….I will shave it all off right now, I wanted to say. I continued to struggle with it daily and experimented with every product out there. I tried several different styles and cuts, and if you were to ask my friends what was my best look….I would think their answer would be “Butch Bleach Blonde”. These attempts have never truly satisfied me, but as I get older, I have become more tolerant with what I have, and more importantly with what I will NEVER have. Recently though, I found a product that seems to be promising. It's a product that was recommended to me, and I found it at Sally's Beauty Supply. Argan Oil has proven so far to not be sticky, not greasy, and controls the frizz really well. So with my new styling merchandise, I've decided there must come a new do! I am making a big step next week and drastically cutting my hair (if I don’t chicken out). I am even thinking about donating the hair to Locks of Love. Check out my Pinterest board “Hair Ya Doing” to see what I am inspiring for. If all goes well and I like what I see, I will try and post a picture.
Taming the Curl
Step 1-Use your $100 bottle of shampoo wisely.(Dime size should do)
Step 2-Scrub and scrub it good...Rinse.(Don't scrub too hard-soft water works best)
Step 3-Use about a half gallon of Argan Oil conditioner, and leave it on for about an hour. (Quarter size amount, and about three minutes will do if you don't have time)
Step 4-Rinse(Leave a little in)
Step 5-Towel dry.(Do this softly, and not too forceful by the roots)
Step6-Use a spray-in-conditioner immediately, and follow by only finger combing. (Do not use a brush)
Step7-Apply a quarter size of Argan Oil, and finger evenly over head.(DO NOT use a brush)
Step 8-Style how you like, and spray lightly with hairspray.(Beware this may cause arguments with your husband, because of the stickiness on the floor)
Step 9-Air Dry.(Do not blow dry, and if you must-use a diffuser)
Step 10-Do not go out in heat, rain, windy conditions, do not to move around at a fast pace, and keep your head as still as possible.
