Projects Projects Projects

Slowly but surely, I plan on putting up some of the projects I've recently completed.  My friend and I have started a craft club, so I need to be "Out with the old and in with the new"!
Here is a jewelry holder I did. It first started with an old picture frame I picked up at Goodwill. I painted and distressed it. Don't worry, I'll fill you in on a simple way to distress wood in a later post real soon. I then covered the back of the frame with burlap. I sprayed the burlap with starch to make it stiffer.  I then used a staple gun to make the burlap extremely taunt.  After that I used a glue gun to glue on the drawer knobs (it should hold, because I only own three necklaces.) Then I made my own burlap rose. I did look at Pinterest for directions on making these roses, but my ADD kicked in and I started playing around on my own and ended up with this. ( I'm still not 100% satisfied with it) Finally to finish it off I found this peacock feather at Hobby Lobby and hot glued it to the burlap-careful with the hot glue, burlap doesn't offer too much protection from burning yourself.  It's still sitting on my bedside table, with hopes to be hung SOMEDAY.
