Halloween runs a close race with Christmas for me as being my favorite holiday. Seeing all of the cute and creative costumes, having an excuse to eat a lot of candy, being able to dress inappropriately (and not be judged), clever decorations and several traditions that just make it down right fun. This year we par-took in several traditions (some old and some new).
♥Of course we watched It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Cooper actually stayed up late, was able to sit through it all, and I actually heard him chuckle aloud. (Not sure at what, but it was great hearing it).
♥We colored on pumpkins, painted on them, used stickers, placed Mr. Potato head pieces in them, and then finally I gave in and we carved the stinking pumpkins. Cooper loved sticking his hands in while picking out all of the slimy seeds. He must have sat and scooped the seeds for a half and hour, as I carved away (I'm not promoting my artistry). I was determined to make this fun for me too, so I made some delicious pumpkin seeds after the 2 hour ordeal was through.

♥Trick or treating was a riot. Every year since I have been married, we have decorated our garage (trying to make it somewhat haunted.) Each year we buy another addition to our collection, and they seem to be getting bigger and of course more expensive. My favorite is the 7 foot tall Mummy that chants “Let me out of hear”. Garrie, Cooper (AKA Black Spider), and I sat in the garage and handed out candy as everyone reluctantly walked through our DO NOT ENTER caution tape. We tried taking Coop out to a couple of our neighbors, but the entire walk down the road he stopped all the kids and wanted to put his candy into their bag……..so we decided he was having more fun at home.Overall, it was another successful, spooky, and fun Halloween..........but now on to bigger and better holidays!
