Mixing it up!

Mixing It Up...Literally!
A)  I love trying to be creative, and come up with fun, new, and rewarding experiences for Cooper to tackle, while also learning something.

B) Not to toot-my-own-horn...but I do consider myself to be a mean Chex mix maker.  So when it was requested for me to make it, I was excited to include Cooper in such a yummy job!

C) Yes I know this looks like a Christmas tradition.....but in this house, I think I make it at least 6X a year.  My version is basically the same as what you would find on the box, but kicked up a notch.

Chex Mix-Sarah & Cooper style
  • 8 Tlb. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 Cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 9 cups of your favorite chex cereal.  ( I use 6 cups Crispex, and 3 cups Wheat Chex)
  • 1 1/2 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 cup Cheerios
  • 1 cup Garlic Bagel Chips
Heat oven to 250 degrees.  Melt butter in a large roasting pan.  Stir in seasonings.  Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated.  Add a few more shakes of Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and season salt over the top and stir again.  Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.  This makes about 12 cups.  I always double the recipe.
Enjoy!
